How do we know Jeff’s wife’s name is Lucille? How old are the Tracy boys? Where is Tracy Island really located?

And if we find an answer to these, or any other questions about Thunderbirds, how do we know if those answers are from the series…or if they’re not?

Welcome to the CANON FOUNDRY…the place where we talk about the difference between canon and fanon. As the years go by and fanfic writers create more and more of the further adventures of International Rescue, the lines become increasingly blurred. The Canon Foundry is where you can come to look things up, see where they really came from.

Canon = Known facts that are mentioned either in the show or its officially produced peripherals, such as the comics, the annuals, or the reference books sanctioned by Gerry Anderson.

Fanon = Facts invented by fans during the production of fanfiction based on the series.

We welcome your input! If you see something we don’t mention here, or would like to suggest an addition, please email us at ticmobilecontrol1@gmail.com and let us know!

The Date Debate >>

2026? OR 2065?

It’s one of the oldest disagreements between fans in the 40 years since Thunderbirds first aired. Was the series set in 2026 or 2065?

Here our team has attempted to answer that question with the DATE DEBATE – two articles, written by Samantha Winchester and Pen Turner (quiller), each taking one side of the argument and supporting their contentions with evidence from the series itself and its official peripherals.

These articles were published in an abbreviated form in Issue 9 of ANDERSONIC MAGAZINE (Spring 2010
