Welcome to the Tracy Island Chronicles, version
2.0!
Once upon a time, I had a wild fantasy. A
permanent home for Thunderbirds fiction, one that would be
safe from the vagaries of time, fate and the waxing and waning of
fan interest. (And from the Hood, too…but that’s another story!)
Over the years since, that fantasy has blossomed into a reality that
is so much more than I ever thought it could be. And we’re about so
much more than just fanfiction now…we’re a real Thunderbirds
resource in the making!
The original Tracy Island Chronicles went online
in the summer of 2004, thanks to the help of many talented people. Chief among them were Lyon, our first designer; Chris (LMC),
original list mom of the Tracy Island Writers Forum; Sandy (Skywench),
also a TIWF list mom; GillyLee, who has risen through the ranks to
now run TIC and TIWF with me; Claire (Ziggy); and Vicki (Meercat).
Without these people, TIC as you knew it then could not have
existed. I owe all of them a huge debt.
And now, we’re unveiling the bright, shiny and
new TIC 2.0, and there’s a new person to thank. Lee, the sine qua
non of this FABulous rebirth (and also the designer and layout
editor of our bimonthly newsletter, Ned Cook’s NTBS Newsflash), who
took on the job of a total redesign of our beloved site and
basically accomplished it single handed. I will be forever in her
debt. And of course I couldn’t do any of this without GillyLee,
veteran of many wars, who has been with me since the beginning of
all this craziness and is frequently the glue that holds me…and the
site…together. I’m proud to take the Tracy Island Chronicles forward
into the 21st Century with these two women at my side.
We’re just getting started, folks. Thunderbirds
are Go!
