Ah the sixties! For most current
Thunderbirds fans, the sixties is a time out of the
history books. This decade evokes some enduring images
for most people... The Beatles, the assassinations of
Jack and Bobby Kennedy and Martin Luther King, hippies,
and the Vietnam War.
But for some of us, it was also a time of
innocence, when all was right with the world. The good guys
wore white hats and always prevailed, and the bad guys always
got their comeuppance. Of course, it wasn't really that
idyllic, but for those of us who grew up then, it was a
simpler time. I suppose that is why I have a fascination with
Thunderbirds.
This is not a show that displayed a lot of
angst. The 'boys' went out, saved the world, came home and ate
apple pie. Of course, we are all trying to update them, give
the characters more depth, but still, it was that optimism and
sweet nature that drew us in the first place.
I will admit to a strong whumping tendency
especially where Gordon is concerned, but I also like humor,
and a lot of my stories will hopefully make you smile, if not
laugh. Thank you for taking the time to look my stories over,
and I hope you enjoy them!
